"Kiccho manussapațilābho, kiccham maccāna jīvitam | Kiccham saddhammassavanam, kiccho buddhānam uppādo || "

(Rare is to gain birth as a human being, hard is the life of mortals. Hard is to get the opportunity of hearing the Saddhamma, the teaching of the sammasambuddha and rare is the appearance of the sammasambuddha.)

(Dhammapada, Buddhavagga, Verse 182)

About Us

Pradnyā Maitri Pratisṭhān (Paññā Mettā Foundation) is dedicated to practicing and spreading the teachings of the Buddha as preserved in the Pāli Tipiṭaka. These teachings are followed through the Noble Eightfold Path (Ariyo Aṭṭhaṅgiko Maggo), also known as the Middle Path (Majjhimapaṭipadā), and the Thirty-seven Bodhipakkiyā Dhammā.

The organization promotes the Noble Eightfold Path and Aṭṭhasīla (Eight Precepts) through Dhamma Retreats, Conferences, Discourses, and popular one-day workshops conducted since 2002, benefiting lakhs of practitioners. It also teaches Ānāpāna Sati and Vipassanā meditation, known as Samatha and Vipassanā.

PMP is inspired by the Dhamma vision of Bodhisatta Dr. Bābāsāheb Āmbedkar, who revived Buddhism in India on 14th October 1956 at Deekshābhoomi, Nagpur. His book The Buddha and His Dhamma and the Pāli Tipiṭaka guide the foundation.

Believing Dhamma to be a universal path beyond caste, creed, or religion, PMP is committed to teaching it to all and invites people from all backgrounds to join its Dhamma courses.
